Old Friends

Old Friends

Postby LeeCook on Wed Nov 30, 2011 11:37 pm

At the risk of spilling the beans on any future JLB works coming out....I went back and re-read about 4 times the last couple of chapters of The Glass Rainbow, trying to figure out if there was any way Dave and Clete could have survived at the end of the book. Since the book was released, there has been a lot of anguish over their fates, with most of us accepting that our 2 favorite characters had finally run out their string. Now, however, after reading and re-reading and re-re-reading those last couple of chapters...I'm not so sure. I will go no further. JLB is certainly, in my opinion, a master of the denouement. I can't wait for September 12, 2012.

Dear Patsy,

I'm in lockdown inside the "Comments" thread, but I wanted to thank you for your statements regarding Feast Day of Fools.

All the best,

Mr Burke,

I'm in the middle of Glass Rainbow and enjoying myself tremendously. Nothing like spending time with Dave and Clete. I hope you are well sir. I gotta see if I can get my hands on a copy of The Convict...

Best wishes, John

Thanks, Podjo. Regarding The Convict, Pocket Books published the last edition in a trade softcover format. It should be at most B&N stories or available through Amazon.

Best,

I got my copy of The Convice through Amazon...I think it was about $5 or $6, in paperback. You can get used copies for less. Last I checked the kindle version was about $10 if you're into kindle. Any book of JLB is a great investment. Enjoy.

Thank you all,

I didn't know The Convict was back in print--ordered a copy from Amazon. I had an old copy years back...lost it somewheres...I just like old beat-up books better for some reason.

I spend some of my spare time haunting used book stores. A couple of years ago, I actually found a paperback of "A Stained White Radiance" that had been autographed. I thought that was a rarity. You never know what you'll find in those hidden corners.
