Your storylines

Your storylines

Hi Mr Burke,

Just wondering how long it takes you to think up the "skeleton" of a storyline? What I mean by skeleton is the basic theme/storyline of the book which you will then flesh out as you write.

Do you have your next book in your head already?

Thank you,

Peter

I never outline and I never see more than two scenes ahead. I never know how a book will end until the last chapter. I always see the story as a matter of discovery rather than creation.

All the best,

Has that always been the case Jim? Just curious if that is something that has developed over your career or if even as a young author the process was the same?
