Counting down the days til July!

Counting down the days til July!

So excited to see the info for "Creole Belle!" I saw Clete might have a long lost daughter in this book  I'm ready to see him work thru that possibility!

We will heading down to New Iberia/Houma this October. Spending some post-gator season time with friends from Grand Bois and getting married. :) My first trip back since the book signing for PD and it's long overdue.

Your old buddy,

Stacey

p.s...love the new book's cover, too. It's MUSSY, Mr. B!

It's good to hear from you again, Miss Stacey. We thought we might have to send the Oklahoma Search and Rescue team after you.

I hope you enjoy Creole Belle.

All the best,

Jim

Yep always!

I read about Levon Helm this morning. I thought of him "In the Electric Mist" and how his voice even then could give me chills. He is an amazing talent and was still playing until recently. Prayers to him and his family.

I didn't see the story, Stacey. What happened?

Re: Levon Helm

Apparently he's in the final stages of his long battle with throat cancer. Google him in, or go into his website for up to the date news, but it sounds like he's nearing the end of a great life. One of my favorite concert movies is "The Last Waltz", with The Band and friends - Dylan, Dr. John, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, Clapton....and what a night it was. After The Band disintegrated, I was glad to see him go back to his musical roots, basically bluegrass, or as he put it sometimes, "mountain music". He was a good drummer, but he also played mandolin and guitar, and won a couple of Grammys for his last 2 records of mountain music. Not many around like him. His passing, barring a miracle, leaves 2 surviving members of The Band - Robbie Robertson and Garth Hudson.

He is definately an American treasure. I love watching him on The Last Waltz. Nobody does it like him, even now his recent Ramble stuff is fun to watch.

We were very sorry to hear Levon Helm passed away. I only spoke with him a few times on the set and he was truly a nice gentleman.
