Billy Bob Holland

Billy Bob Holland

I love ALL of James Lee Burke's books but "Bitterroot" remains one of my all time favorite. For me it's right up there with Uris's "Trinity". Will there ever be a followup with Billy Bob? Please say yes. I am now a disabled/retired RN and I am passionate about books. My library card is well worn. I am also proud that James Lee Burke once taught in my hometown of Wichita. Would love to get an autographed copy of "Bitterroot".

Thanks for the nice post, Miss Kathy. I'm writing a scene right now centered around none other than Wyatt Dixon, one of my all-time favorite characters.

Stay in touch.

All the best,

Jim

How did you know I loved being called Miss Kathy? That what many of "my" kids called me when I worked for the last 15 years of my career as a school nurse. I had 745 kids when I became ill. And no, they didn't cause it. I loved my job and miss it. I am looking forward to your story with Wyatt.

There is something in Wyatt that you have to admire. He is the ultimate survivor and I think he wishes he was Billy Bob. It's a love/hate relationship with Wyatt. Sometimes I want to root for him but he is much more evil than good and he knows it.

Thanks, Miss C. Wyatt is about to enter the life of Gretchen Horowitz. I think you're correct. He's one of the most interesting characters I've written about. The book in progress is Light of the World.

All the best,

Jim

That's great news, Jim. Both are fascinating characters among all those you've created. Might I ask who the lead character or characters might be?

If I talk about it, I won't write it. Thanks for the inquiry, Dakota.
