I have just started the Glass Rainbow and am wondering what happened to Bootsie and in which book that is addressed.

Bootsie died after a protracted illness - lupus I think it was, maybe in Joile Blon's Bounce.

It was not "really" covered in any book. In Jolie Blon's Bounce she was in it, and Last Car to Elesian Fields she had already passed away. So much significant happened between the two books it took me a bit to orient myself reading Last Car...

Mobe, somewhere on an earlier iteration of this board, or maybe on a thread I cannot find, Pamala explained that, as JLB and Dave had dealt with Annie's death in the book, he felt it too stressful on DAve and the readers to go thru that again. Thus Bootsie is dealt with minutely as Dave is attempting to move on. It does not even mention, to my memory, how the lupus finally got her. You are certainly not the first person to ask about LAST CAR TO ELYSIAN FIELDS.
