Actually, Dave may be 70. Jim has said that Dave is about his age, or a few years younger.

Thanks, Pamala, thanks, Rumrunner. It was the 1958 that I remember; think he and Bootsie went to visit Spanish Lake the same year. Tivy and I remember that graduation year too, but I may be soooo much younger than he as I am ONLY 69. Am sure the Bobbsey twins' muscle memory will carry them forward---into another book.

Or maybe Hack could come back. After all, we have no details of his life between LDMS&S and RAIN GODS, when we know he is in his 70's.

Whew!

HI Pamala
That's great news ... I love Hack ... and will be curious to see if his young sweetie pie appears as well :) Hmmm what was her name again, Pamala? Could'ya remind me LOL

I actually kept one particular review of Rain Gods ... goodness knows I cannot remember why this particular one got plunked in my Favourites ... but I'm glad I saved it ... one brief quote, "Rain Gods is the most clearly literary novel of Burke's distinguished career as a novelist. After 17 Dave Robicheaux, four Billy Bob Holland, six miscellaneous golden novels and two collections of short stories, Burke has struck platinum."

You know, it could be spruced up and attributed to The Glass Rainbow, eh?

Regards!!

Well, that was certainly the best DR ever...and while the surprise of the ending to me was the ambiguity, the biggest surprise was on page 68: I had no idea that Kermit Abelard authored White Doves at Morning. And, is there a hint on page 123 that we''ll be enjoying a JLB Civil War book set in 1863.

Thanks once again, JLB

Thanks, Jimmer. Also thanks for the tip regarding Kermit. He may be the fellow who has been siphoning off my royalties from WDAM.

Best,

Jim

Siphoning? Sounds like something Kermit would do.

Say the word and we'll form a posse and go after him!

Ending

Postby LA clay on Tue Aug 03, 2010 2:59 pm

With out revealing the ending could this have been a little different. Know I have to wait for the next one, but as always Clete is my favorite charactor. He has no boudries if you upset him or rub him the wrong way.
