What are you reading at the moment?

At this moment, I am reading 'White Doves at Morning'. Just about to finish it. I am enjoying it just as much as I enjoy the DR and BBH books.

And, I just ordered, from Amazon, 'To the Bright and Shining Sun' and 'Lay Down My Sword and Shield'.

The latter two are to occupy me during my annual round trip of South Florida for the Christmas Holidays (Clearwater, Cocoa, Winter Springs, Palm Beach County, and camping at Lake Kissimmee SP with the grandkids [just a little brain washing goin' on there. Maybe they'll grow up and take their kids camping and hiking.]).

Lots of time to read and not be bothered or hanging on to a grab bar because of hubby's driving. He hates it when I take in a loud, quick, deep breath.

Y'all have a fun and safe Holiday.

Droll, jbenham ... very droll...

I finished SP a few days ago, went on to finish Jesus Out To Sea, and now am reading through Tim Gautreaux's Welding With Children and the 1998 edition of Best American Short Stories, edited by Garrison Keillor (JLB got me into a short-story mood).

Sorry about the confusion, there, jbenham, I was responding to your post on the first page (you were reading Swan Peak); I'm accustomed to seeing the most recent posts on the FIRST page of a message board, not the last...

now I know about this one...

That feature of the new board gets me on occasion too Lon. I have to look up at the page number to make sure I'm on the right page. Lonnie

HI Guys
Just finished Coffin Dancer by Jeffrey Deaver ... good, old fashioned good guys vs bad guys with an interesting twist. Totally enjoyed it ... it's 2nd in the eight-book Lincoln Rhyme series, I'm going to grab Bone Collector asap so I can begin at the beginning (what a concept!!). Had read The Blue Nowhere (not part of a series) ages ago, and it is grrrrreat!

Regards!!

That's good to know because I am enjoying The Bodies Left Behind and plan to try the Lincoln Rhymes series.

Just picked up a copy of "A Morning for Flamingos." Don't know how that one got by me, but glad it did because now I have a chance to read it.
For all those that are reading McCarthy's "All the Pretty Horses," take a look at his latest one, "The Road." Very interesting, and will soon be a movie.

HI Kelvins
Welcome :)

I just bought a copy of The Road on Friday ... and you say it's a good 'un?? YAY! Yes, I thoroughly enjoyed All The Pretty Horses, tho the writing style threw me for a wee while ... many years ago, I was a journeyman printer in a job shop, so the lack of " " was unsettling at first, then I got into the rhythm of the story.

HI JB
Just checked the Fantastic Fiction website and I see Bodies Left Behind is a 2009?? You dog you LOL!!

But hey ... peep this: The Chopin Manuscript (2007) (with Lee Child, David Corbett, Joseph Finder, Jim Fusilli, John Gilstrap, James Grady, David Hewson, John Ramsey Miller, P J Parrish, Ralph Pezullo, S J Rozan, Lisa Scottoline, Peter Spiegelman and Erica Spindler) ... apparently Deaver mapped out the overall premise of the story, each author wrote a specific chapter, then Deaver ties it all together ... YUM!

Regards!!

Re: What are you reading at the moment? and in order

Jeff, Lon,

I am not sure if this will solve your order of posts concern, but at the bottom there is a drop down arrow that allows you to change from ascending to descending or whatever. Would that not move your newer ones to the top? I like going to the last page myself. Either way I have probably missed some and am scrolling back, or in your case down?

Maybe I have misunderstood the problem. Gee, there is a novelty. THAT never happens.
