Tin Roof Blowdown

That's a great letter, Wendy. Your mention about the Society of Friends's belief that people carry a light inside them is wonderful.

Keep the faith and come back to Louisiana. I love the description of Mike the Tiger's tail hanging from your laptop.

Best,

Jim

Thanks for posting the link to Ian Rankin's website and newsletter. Pearl and Pamala and I met him and Lee Child at Boucheron and had dinner with them. They are both real gentlemen.

Best,

Thanks for the reference to Lee Child -- do not know his books – but will look for them.

Another rave!

It's a masterpiece, Jim. I can only hope to ever become half the writer you are.

Hope you and your family have a great holiday season.

Peace.

Mr. Burke,
After having spent the last five months reading your Robicheaux series, I finally arrived at The Tin Roof Blowdown It is an extraordinary book that I will treasure along with my other Robicheaux books. The story you told of New Orleans has haunted my waking dreams for weeks now. Thank you for writing it. I look forward to reading more about Dave and Clete. Best wishes for the New Year

Thanks, Sue. The next Dave Robicheaux novel is titled "Swan Peak" and is set in Montana. It's due out July 8 of '08.

Happy New Year,

Jim

Jim,

Are you sure the publisher won't delay the release date for "Swan Peak" until August 8, '08?

That would be a good combo on the number 8, and also a very, very special day in my calendar. :-)

I've just finished 'Tin Roof Blowdown' and in addition to being another great Robicheaux novel, the descriptions of Katrina (and Rita) especially before they hit, left me anxious while reading. The description of those horrific events were very sobering as described through the eyes of Dave. In tandem to the story of Dave, Clete and the other characters, you never forget that there was the reality of suffering and despair of the people in New Orleans and the surrounding regions. Thanks again....Mike.
