Heaven's Prisoners

Has anybody seen the adaptation? I checked the movie out on IMDB, and the cast does not look all that impressive (except for Kelly Lynch as Annie!). Thankful for any kind of words on this.

Best.

M.O.D.;

Have watched the movie many times, it is good, follows the storyline mostly, the cast is good, alec baldwin does a decent job of D.R., just wish this was one of the books that had clete included in the characters cast. But, can't win em all.

rent it for a buck and see what you think, you may want to pick up a copy for your library afterward.

I didn't know that HP was released on DVD in 2003...so you can get it on Amazon now.

Thanks. I gonna see how much it costs (don't think I can find it on rental anywhere here), if it's not too costly I'll give it a go.

Thanks again Brad & Pamala.

I found the movie, dirt cheap, on Ebay. Watched it yesterday, and I was not impressed. I have no beef with Alec Baldwin. I'm sure he is a nice guy, but as far as acting goes, he's just not capable in my opinion. Besides, ANY film that co-stars Eric Roberts would want to make you think twice. It had it's points, it followed the book pretty closely, which was nice. And as I suspected, Kelly Lynch did a good job. The big problem is that the acting, for the most part, is sub par and simply not trustworthy. Then again, everyone's a critic!

The movie version was okay.

It did not follow the novel as closely as I would have liked, but hey. Halfway decent crime/thriller movie.

I enjoyed it very much.. I thought the opening scene with Dave in the confessional one of the best scenes that I've watched in movies, excellent.. Alec Baldwin is very good, Kelly Lynch is just OK, but the actress who plays Robin? ,she's really good... Batiste is just the way I pictured him. Alafair adorable... Good movie !!!!

I did find myself distracted by the scenery and thinking that everything (ie the city, the houses) was much bigger than I pictured it in my mind while reading the Robicheaux books.

Alec Baldwin was not bad in the remake of Jim Thompson's book The Getaway (although the original with Steve McQueen was a classic) but I just have always pictured Dave as a bigger man than Baldwin. I think of someone like Brian Dennehy or Mr Burke himself.

I liked Alec Baldwin's 'The Getaway' much better than the Steve McQueen, even though I love Steve I couldn't stand Ali McGraw. James Woods lit up his 'part' and made it more real than the original. IMO...
