Ocanada,
Daniel Day Lewis as Dave? That is inspired casting! He would be brilliant.I don't think he's done a contemporary crime film so it would be very interesting.
Well done

Paul, I agree that Brendan Gleeson is a natural for Clete. I would like to see him lose some weight and firm up some because Clete is big but not flabby - chinned or otherwise.

OO, OO, didn't Brendan Gleeson play Hamish in Braveheart? He was my very fave! So brawny and, well, hairy.

Brendan Gleeson as Clete? Now that's an idea that just might work. He's already proven he can handle accents...he's a British actor, but very believable as Ruby's father in "Cold Mountain".

Hmmmm!

Well well well Brad Branch - some interesting decade casting to ponder. Who was better than Steve McQueen? He was great in everything he did. And Gene Hackman as Clete in the 70s. Terrific. Of course.

Thanks for the post. And welcome!

70's casting

Postby Brad Branch on Thu May 15, 2008 6:50 pm

Well thank you jackie for the comment, had to sit around for awhile racking my brain thinking about the subject and those guys were just about the toughest around for modern law enforcement film genre I could think of that fit the characters as seen in my mind. Got a mental block when I tried to think of who might make a good Helen, thought maybe shirley booth or the actress that played stella in cat on a hot tin roof, can't remember her name but she's a heck of an actress.

Im new to the forum so I was just cruisin different threads and just couldn't resist the input. Am thinking tonight of putting together a lampoon style cast, just for squirts and giggles, may have some inspiration to list tomorrow. Great to hear from you jackie, thanks for the response.

If you folk will put up with my being a bit silly, what about this scenario?

The original Rat Pack -

Frank Sinatra as Dave
Dean Martin as Clete
Sammy Davis, Jr. as Batiste
Angie Dickinson as Bootsie

Don't know who could play Helen Soileau - Joey Bishop, perhaps?
