Where can I find a list of JLB's books, listing them in order?
The books are listed chronologically on the website's Bibliography page. http://jamesleeburke.com/bibliography.html

Can I mail books for Jim to sign?
Several years ago, after a couple of disastrous turns with shipping, Jim had to ask that people no longer send books. A few titles are available through the website on the "books for sale" page. Also feel free to contact us for suggestions on where to find signed books.

Which of JLB's books have been made into movies?
TWO FOR TEXAS starring Kris Kristofferson and Tom Skerrit was produced by TNT. HEAVEN'S PRISONERS starred Alec Baldwin, Terri Hatcher, Kelly Lynch, Eric Roberts and Mary Stewart Masterson. There is a current project in the works for IN THE ELECTRIC MIST WITH CONFEDERATE DEAD.

**SPOILER ALERT**I just finished reading Last Car to Elysian Fields and found out that Bootsie died and Dave's house burned down. When did that happen---did I miss a book?
"Last Car to Elysian Fields," which deals with the death of Bootsie and the loss of Dave's house on the bayou, was written with a retrospective
point of view for several reasons. Both "Heaven's Prisoners" and "Black Cherry Blues" dealt with the murder of Annie, Dave's second wife. I
believed that another novel centered entirely around mortality was more than the protagonist or the reader could bear, and frankly more than I
could write, without going across a line into morbidity that ultimately takes one outside the confines of art.

Lastly "Elysian Fields" treats the passing of an era, for either good or bad, and the demise of the Cajun way of life. To couple these themes with the death of a loved one seemed almost like a deliberate descent into darkness. Hence, in the last moments of the book Dave reflects on Bootsie's words about the return of the brown pelicans. That moment is intended to provide hope, if only a fleeting one. For Dave, acceptance of history and mutability has always been an elusive virtue.

Bootsie and Annie are among the strongest characters in the series. They are certainly the strongest in Dave's life. I hope I've done them some kind of justice.

Best,
JLB
